The Gentle Exfoliator

There’s a reason why your favorite facialist will never leave out some form of exfoliation during your visit—it’s not only a super-effective way to smooth out, clear out, and brighten your skin, but it’s also the quickest treatment for instant, noticeable results.

While exfoliating regularly (say, once or twice a week, depending on your unique skin) amps up the glow like no other, there’s a right way and a wrong way. Using traditional grainy scrubs, especially those with jagged exfoliating agents like crushed walnut seeds, or harsh acids, might actually do more harm than glow. Over the long term, over-exfoliation (or not using the right product) might lead to visible skin irritation and redness, which will then trigger a cycle of skin-weakening and sensitivity, which can ultimately manifest as the appearance of wrinkles, dark spots, sagging, tenderness, and in some cases, even pain.

To avoid all those negative side effects in both the short and long term—while enjoying the many benefits of exfoliation—the key is to exfoliate while respecting the skin barrier. Epionce’s Keratolytic Technology combines ingredients to soften and remove outer layers of dead skin; smooth out the appearance of the skin contour; cleanse pores of dirt, oil and debris; and encourage sloughing—all without compromising on skin health. Glow-accelerating ingredients include Salicylic Acid minimize blemishes, Willow Bark Extract to keep pores clean, and Bamboo and Pea Extracts to brighten and smooth.

LYTIC PRODUCTS

As part of the “Correct & Boost” step of the Epionce skincare protocol, Lytic products help improve the appearance of skin imperfections while also boosting the effectiveness of Renewal Facial products. Lytic products offer the following benefits to all skin types:

• Decrease the appearance of visible redness and skin irritation

• Retexturize to reveal smooth skin

• Improve appearance of pores and scars

• Reduce the appearance of blemishes associated with problem-prone skin

Remember, exfoliating is wonderful for your skin—but it can be a little scary if executed improperly. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way. You can be gentle and keep your delicate skin barrier intact while reaping the radiant benefits of exfoliation. If you incorporate an Epionce Lytic product into your daily or weekly regimen, you’ll see what the fuss is about!
